Why Live In Bozeman Montana?
Quality of life is a big priority here and it is baked into our culture in different ways. For some this means living within walking distance to work. Winters here are predictably long and cold but temperatures fluctuate. They can hover at zero for weeks or fall below -20 and then rise to 40 degrees the next week. Expect sustained winter weather from October to April, but I’ve seen snow fly as early as September and into June. You just never know when one season ends and another begins here so you learn to enjoy the favorable weather while it lasts! What Towns Are Near Bozeman?
If you want to live within a short commute to Bozeman consider looking at homes in Belgrade, Four Corners and Gallatin Gateway. Further away but still reasonably short commutes are Livingston, Manhattan, and Three Forks. Big Sky is an hour away and many people make the commute daily but the Gallatin Canyon can be unsafe in poor weather. The same is true if you are commuting from Livingston over the Bozeman Pass.

At under 50,000 people, Bozeman is a micropolitan. The city has been the fastest growing micropolitan for the past four years and consistently ranks in the top ten micropolitans nationwide. The city is expected to become a metropolitan when the 2020 census count is released.

- The population of Bozeman was last estimated at 49,831 people in 2019. According to 2019 estimates Bozeman is the fourth largest city in Montana. The next largest cities in Montana are Great Falls (58,434), Missoula (75,516), and Billings (109,577).
- The population of Gallatin County was last estimated at 116,438 in 2019. Gallatin County is very densely populated when compared to the rest of Montana. Consider nearby Park County which was estimated at just 16,806 people in 2019.

Bozeman has added over 10,000 people since 2010 and continues to grow at a steady clip. In the past five years the Bozeman population growth was nearly 20% making it the fastest growing city in Montana. Longtime locals may remember when North 19th was just a dirt road past Durston, which is frankly hard to imagine these days!

We saw alot of housing activity in 2020: higher demand for housing, fewer homes on the market, and growing pains too. New construction homes are just not being built fast enough to match the pace of growth and as a result, housing is getting more expensive in Bozeman and the Gallatin Valley:
